This class was full of some spicy pups 🌶️😂 Sometimes that’s just how it goes… maybe it was a new mix of unfamiliar dogs, maybe it was the full moon… who knows!

Instead of pushing through agility drills, we hit pause and worked on something even more important: helping our dogs stay calm, engaged, and focused on their handlers while working side by side with distractions.

Agility is about building a dog that can think, listen, and work with you even when the environment is challenging.

What do you do with a class full of "spicy" dogs?

When you have a class of dogs that are barking, lunging, charging toward one another, or struggling to stay focused, it might seem logical to keep them apart.

Instead... we brought them out together.

Why? Because those are the exact situations where they need the opportunity to learn.

In a structured, controlled environment, we work on the skills that matter:
🐾 Focusing on their handler instead of other dogs.
🐾 Remaining calm and engaged around distractions.
🐾 Making thoughtful choices rather than reacting impulsively.
🐾 Building confidence while sharing the training space with other teams.

We don't expect perfection. We will expect progress.

Every calm glance at a handler, every successful pass by another dog, and every moment of self-control is a win worth celebrating. Over time, those "spicy" dogs learn that agility isn't about the other dogs—it's about the game they get to play with their person.

Watching these teams grow from reactive to focused will be one of the most rewarding parts of training.
