Ruby Ranch Pet Rescue and Sanctuary
Ruby Ranch Pet Rescue and Sanctuary was founded in 2011. It all started with one little old dog…. Wow. Ruby…the little dog who inspired a revolution.
Did you adopt from us? We'd like some adoption pupdates!!!!
We always LOVE to see them years later in their new homes!! We know a few have passed away recently, and we'd love for you to post their adoption stories and any photos you'd like to share as well, so we can remember them.
We will repost photos daily!!!! Can't wait to see pupdates!!!

What would Ms. Bitsy like for this Thanksgiving? A new family!
Unfortunately her two humans passed away, so that leaves this 10ish year old poodle searching for a new forever home.
She is tiny..about 7 lbs, (although a bit chubby!) and would like to be Queen of her Castle. Definitely no cats (unless they are separated, or the cats avoid her), and ideally the only dog.
She is a snuggler, still very feisty--she has bursts of energy!, and is housetrained if she is let out often.
Please help make Bitsy's Thanksgiving wish for a new family come true!

PUPDATE!
17 year old Skeeter is celebrating 3 years with her new family. After being abandoned by her owners at 14 years old, we rescued her from the Yuma Humane Society, she had glaucoma which was so advanced and not repairable--even at her age we had no choice but to remove both eyes. It was the right decision--because look at her now--3 whole years later!
We thank all of you who open up your hearts and home to those senior animals--they truly deserve it.
Here's to three more years Ms. Skeeter!!!!!

Alas...it is time to find our sweet Mia her forever home. She's an extra special little gal, we know the perfect home is out there waiting for her. She is a 5 year old blind shih tzu, about 16lbs.
We have no idea what her background is, but based on her medical condition and behavior when she arrived we can only assume it was far from pleasant. Her eyes were matted shut, the hair and gunk was removed revealing eyes damaged beyond repair. She spent a week at the vet, trying everything we could to save the eyes. One was beyond salvageable and needed to be removed, the other she was able to keep, but the damage was done--she has no vision left in that eye. Lack of vision left an already timid little girl extraordinarily fearful of new voices and noises. She will occasionally have what we can only assume are panic attacks if she feels threatened. Example: A small bookshelf fell over, causing the foster puppies in the home to all start screaming :)--because Mia couldn't see what had happened--and heard the puppies sound like the roof was caving in, she ran into the bathroom barking, shaking, and pooped herself. :( She loves to be held, so when she heard her foster Mom's voice, and she picked her up, she calmed down immediately.
Mia LOOOOOOVES other dogs!!!!! One or more social friendly, non-high strung dog in the home is a must. She follows their cues. She would do well with a gentle canine pack leader. She really wants to play with the dogs in her foster home, but they are not interested. She also LOVES toys!!!!
If her foster family has had experience with fearful dogs, or puppy mill dogs--Mia will be a piece of cake. She ADORES her foster Mom and a few people who are regular visitors. This will not be instant gratification--she will take a week to get comfortable, but once she trusts a human, she is affectionate, playful, eagerly welcomes tummy rubs, and loves them with all she has.
If you believe Mia would be a nice addition to your canine pack-please contact us. She is currently being fostered in Phoenix. We will not ship her, so please don't ask. We would entertain an out of state adoption, but driving to Arizona would be necessary, she would not do well on a plane. (oh...Mia LOVES car rides too!!!)
