THANK YOU!!!

We are always so thankful for any and every donation we receive. As a very small rescue with mostly self funding to take care of our kitties we are grateful for those that are able to donate.

Our kitties will love these treats and also say thank you!

The pastries got adopted on Sunday!!

Congrats sweet Eclair, Croissant, and Cannoli. They hit the jackpot with a loving family that adopted all three of these brothers together😻😻😻

We still have many kittens and cats available for adoption. Please reach out or fill out an application in the link on our bio for all the available kitties.

Update on our boy, Chewy, who was diagnosed recently with FIP.

He is a fighter this one. His white bloods cells were so out of normal range it’s a miracle that he has survived. It has also been tricky because Chewy is mostly feral and a permanent resident at SCKR so administering medicine has been a challenge.

Somehow and some way Lisa was able to get him to a point where he is eating again, gaining some weight back, and we see more energy. But the road to recovery of FIP is long and of course expensive.

Chewy is doing so much better, but he makes it very difficult for RX administration because we can no longer handle him now that he is feeling better. We also cant weigh him weekly for medication adjustments, and we have to try sneaking his meds into food, which gets sometimes gets wasted if he doesnt eat it.

With the cost of meds in excess of $400 for less than a 30 day supply it costly so any donations at this time are appreciated. We just received a positive test that one of our cats also had FIP so we will begin the cycle with her as well.

Check out our stories for more information on FIP, how cats contract FIP, the recovery processes, and more!

They don’t talk about this enough in rescue.

The cats you keep because they either have medical issues or never socialize fully. You set out wanting each and every kitten to be adopted but it isn’t your choice. It’s up to the potential adopters. Do they like black kittens? Will a kitten with health concern be a fit for them? How will a shy one win over adopters? The list goes on and on.

So we are left with our sanctuary cats. The ones no one wanted but we would never give up on. The ones we may not cuddle with nightly or may have to see the vet frequently. But that would never change how we care of feel about them. That’s Chewy. He never fully socialized after being saved as a kitten.

Now he has dry FIP and is fighting for his life. His care is timely and costly and sometimes a little scary because we don’t know if he will try to bite because he is so scared. But Lisa, our co-founder spends hours a day in addition to her full time job caring for him. Because at this rescue we NEVER give up. We fight for each little soul no matter how severe the case is.

So tonight we ask that you send some positive energy for Chewy and us. We ask that you share this post. This is rescue. This is the commitment we make to all that comes into our care. It takes time, money, energy, and a whole lot of effort but we wouldn’t do it any other way.

xoxo

And even worse he expects his brother Snoop to live rent free with us too?!

That’s right our sweet Buster is still looking for his forever home. He has went to an adopter once and didn’t do well alone so we suggest him and his brother Snoop to go to a home together. After all they have been together for a year now.

He also has had plenty of people interested him but he is shy at first and we always have smaller kittens that end up getting adopted instead of him.

He needs:
✅ A home where he and his brother can be the only cats. He is fine with dogs and honestly our cats but we think he would do best as an only cat with Snoop.
✅ Patience in getting to know him and helping with his confidence in a new home.
✅ A lap to lay on because he loves to take a nap with his humans.
✅ Play time so he can get all his energy out.
✅ A fellow foodie like himself, any treat or can of food that comes out you can find Buster right there waiting for it.
✅ Someone who enjoys a big boy because kittens grow up too 🤷🏼‍♀️
✅ Love, because out of all our kitties he is such a big lover.

Please reach out if you are interested or share with your network. Buster and Snoop deserved to be the kings of the house with tons of love. ❤️ 🐾

She raised four beautiful babies… now it’s her turn 🤍

This stunning grey mama, just 1–2 years old and under 10 lbs, has done an incredible job caring for her four black kittens. She’s been patient, loving, and everything her babies needed to grow strong and healthy.

While everyone falls in love with the kittens (we get it they’re adorable!), mama cats like her are often overlooked. But she deserves a home just as much as they do. One where she can finally be the one receiving all the love and attention.

She’s ready to trade in motherhood for a life of cozy naps, gentle pets, and being someone’s whole world.

Don’t forget about the moms they’re just as special 💕
