BEWARE: This is the most dangerous product l've ever seen advertised for kittens. Every foster parent needs to know about this! This summer, Orphan Kitten Club has had several requests for "incubators" that are only $70 or $80 (compared to around $1200, the average cost of an appropriate incubator for kittens.) With such a low price tag, I knew I needed to order some to test out for safety. And when I did...it was EVEN WORSE than I thought. I've already had a few foster parents reach out to me and tell me their kittens died in these products. One shared: "I took a one hour nap...and during that time the temperature rose so high that it caused brain damage." Another told me the scalding hot bulb melted the plastic and nearly caught the product on fire. This is so, so dangerous, and every kitten caregiver needs to be aware. You do NOT need an incubator to care for kittens, so don't buy one unless you have the ability to buy something safe; a heat disk is much safer than opting for something cheap like this!
