With Halloween looming around the corner, what better way to have a HEALTHY treat on hand than to roast pumpkin seeds! Carving pumpkins is a fun activity to do with family and friends and the best part is you can use the seeds from the pumkins for your snacks for the week. Remember to have fun and enjoy some candy this Halloween week with moderation and healthy snacks in mind!
"How much physical activity do children need?"
The CDC recommends 60 minutes of physical activity every day (for both children and adolescents). The link below discusses the three types of exercises, which are: aerobic, muscle strength, and bone strengthening.
1. Aerobic exercise (e..g., brisk walking or running) should be done at least 3 days per week, (60 or more minutes).
2. Muscle Strengthening (e.g., gymnastics or push-ups) should be done at least 3 days/week as part of your child's 60 or more minutes.
3. Bone Strengthening (e.g., jumping rope or running) should be done at least 3 days/week as part of your child's 60 or more minutes.
