Well then... when I was a 14 year old boy I convinced my dad to rent me a guitar. We couldn't afford to buy one, and he wasn't sure if I'd stick with it, so he said to me "I'll rent you a guitar for three months, and after that, if I see that your still playing and working at it, I'll go half on one with you, but you gotta work and earn the money for the other half".

I said OK

Worked all summer as a dishwasher at Marie Callender's restaurant in Fremont and saved up the money

I ended up sticking with it...

I just sent him this picture of me on the cover of Rolling Stone France holding my Flying V guitar... pretty special moment for the two of us
