Phoenix Zoo
The Phoenix Zoo is one of the largest non-profit zoos in the United States.
Did you know that fennec foxes have built-in "ear" conditioning?
Their unusually big ears not only provide exceptional hearing but also act as natural radiators! The large surface area allows them to divert excess body heat to their blood vessels just beneath the thin skin, which quickly releases the heat into the cooler air.
When in doubt, wallow it out 🙂↕️
Chutti uses his mud wallows not only for cooling off, but also for skin care! The mud acts as a natural sun protectant and bug spray, shielding him from harsh UV rays and pesky insects.
