YCSO ANNOUNCES A LOSS OF ONE OF OUR OWN

We are deeply heartbroken to announce that our deputy passed away this afternoon after being shot in the line of duty. We are not releasing the name as of yet in respect for the family.

The suspect has been taken into custody after a protracted barricade situation.

Sheriff David Rhodes will make a statement offering more details, and we will keep you updated as well.

R.I.P. Ofc. Lopez, and condolences and deepest sympathy, to the family of Ofc. Lopez, the men and women of the White Mountain Apache Police Dept. and the entire White Mountain Apache Community. Hoping for a speedy recovery for Sgt. Thompson.
