Romans 6:4 “We have therefore been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory and power of the Father, we too might walk habitually in newness of life [abandoning our old ways].” Before I baptize someone I really enjoy hearing them confess their faith in Jesus. Then they go down into the water, signifying their death to sin and self, but come out of the water showing the world that they have been raised to walk in newness of life by the glory of the Father.
As we lead people to Jesus, we need to be sure that they know what it means to commit their life to Him. They need to realize that when you come to Christ, you can’t keep your life as you know it. In fact, you lose your life as you know it– and that’s a great thing! You lose your life to find an entirely new life in Him!
When you walk with Jesus your dreams are different. Your desires change. Your thoughts are shifted. As you grow to know Him, you begin to think, love, act and talk in a new way. Everything in your life is transformed by Him. You are a new creation. Life looks different. The old is gone, the new has come. You just want to experience new life in Him more and more each day, don’t you?
Our prayer is now, “God we don’t want to live as we once lived– slaves to sin, dead in sin, running from You. We praise You, Lord, for saving us from that life. We praise you for sav- ing us from the penalty of sin– death. Thank You for eternal life– not just in the future– but eternal life, NOW! I thank You, Father, for new life!”
I also pray in my own life, as well as for you reading this– that we will continue to allow the Lord to help us walk in newness of life everyday. That we will let Him change our thoughts, change the way we think, change our desires. May we not slip back into old way, old loves. We must let Holy Sprit have free reign in us– to help us love Him and His Word and His ways so much more than anything in this world. We must live His new life everyday. We have been crucified with Christ. We no longer live Jesus lives in us. Let it be evident to those all around us.

I trust you all had an impactful Easter celebration. We rejoiced at church with the body of Christ, then had a sweet time of communion with our children and grandchildren, plus a scrumptious ham dinner and an Easter egg hunt. I love rehearsing, with my family, all that Jesus did for us; all that his death and resurrection has provided for us.
Then as Jesus was leaving this earth, to ascend to His Father, He left clear instructions to His followers. They were told to stay in Jerusalem until they received the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 1:8 says, “But I promise you this—the Holy Spirit will come upon you, and you will be seized with power. You will be my messengers to Jerusalem, throughout Judea, the distant provinces—even to the remotest places on earth!”
Notice that it says when the Holy Spirit comes upon you...“you will be seized with power.” What power? The power it talks about in Ephesians 1:20 “This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and exalted Him to the place of highest honor and supreme authority in the heavenly realm!”
We can be continually empowered by Holy Spirit, just as the early followers were. Not long after being filled with the Holy Spirit, Peter and John went to the temple to pray. They encountered a crippled man begging for money. Peter said, “I don’t have money, but I’ll give you this—by the power of the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, stand up and walk!”
As Peter pulled the man to his feet, suddenly power surged into his crippled feet and ankles. The man jumped up, rejoicing and shouting praises to God! That same power that raised Christ from the dead, completely healed and infused life to the cripple’s legs and feet!
One of my favorite things to do is to pray for people. It never gets old
feeling the power of God—by faith— leave my hands and surge into
someone’s body to heal them! I pray you will continually experience the
immeasurable greatness of God’s power made available to you through faith. Then your lives will be an advertisement of this immense power as it works through you!

This month I have had the faithfulness of God on my mind, and how including all who have been a part of Mike Fox Ministries, in one way or another, we have together impacted nations and generations, over the past 40+ years. The faithfulness and steadfastness of God is undeniable. When we look back on His love and provision over the different seasons, and the “ups and downs” of life, it encourages and builds our faith.

In 1994, we visited Mexicali de Baja California, MX, and we had several nights of evangelistic meetings in the barrio of La Carranza. While there we heard God tell us that ministering and sharing the Gospel in Mexicali was our next assignment. We were blessed to help Pastors Armando Betanzos and Gabriel Monson build a church building in La Carranza, for the people that were saved in those meetings. This ministry is still thriving today! In fact, Debbie, Tarah and I will be ministering there next week with Pastor Mario Betanzos.

God has certainly been faithful. Faithful and absolutely trustworthy is He who is calling you and He will do it -He will fulfill His call by making you holy, guarding you, watching over you, and protecting you as His own. I Thes. 5:24

This is already proving to be a year of new growth and new life! May you be reminded of all that God has done in and through you, as we live this year with fresh expectancy.

Yeah! Welcome 2024!

John 1: 1-5 “In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. He was [continually existing] in the beginning [co-eternally] with God. All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him not even one thing was made that has come into being. In Him was life [and the power to bestow life], and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness did not understand it or overpower it or appropriate it or absorb it [and is unreceptive to it].”

I speak over this new year of 2024 that the life and light of Jesus in us- His body- His chosen ones- consumes us and moves powerfully through us, wherever The Lord leads. Where we are, we shine in this present darkness– a mighty force– loving, saving, delivering, rescuing, healing, restoring all those to whom He leads us.

John 8:12, “Once more Jesus addressed the crowd. He said, “I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.”

Debbie and I are very excited in our spirits for all that God has planned for the next 12 months. We are planning several trips to Mexico. We thank you for your prayers.
