that feeling after the ceremony is done ☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️

We printed 26 photos for our home and my heart is bursting. My mom used to let me sift through the hundreds of photos she took of us. Sitting in the laundry room with a storage bucket oozing with negatives. She was the gate keeper to capturing our childhood. I can see the photo of me almost pulling the cats tail (sorry Pepper), playing dress up in a rosey red dress, a shot waking up from a nap with some mean bed head smooshed into my dads face (we look like twins). Isn’t it wild to think you are responsible for encapsulating the story of their childhood? I feel that weight and gift all at once. These last (almost) 3 years have been my greatest teacher as a photographer.

The simplest lesson: capturing a smile. The joy beaming in their eyes kind of look. It’s sometimes in the still but often in movement.

The veil was insane, the florals (chefs kiss), the moment she laid down after ceremony with the biggest exhale of “WE DID IT”, the sweet moment with her mom just relaxing —- it was all packed full of goodness!!
