Show your colors and cheer on the D-backs while rocking the exclusive D-backs Pride Jersey, a vibrant symbol of unity and support for the LGBTQ+ community. This is more than just a game -- it’s a night to stand proud, show your colors, and embrace the joy of unity with fellow fans.
The Diamondbacks welcome Dale Scott for the ceremonial first pitch as part of D-backs Pride Night. Dale worked as a minor league umpire from 1981 to 1986 and then became a major league umpire from 1986 to 2017, when he retired after multiple concussions. He was the umpire in 2001 for our game 7, World Series win to highlight as part of the 91 postseason games, 3897 regular season games, and 92 ejections in his 32-season career.
In 2014, Dale publicly came out as gay, the first active male official to do so in the five major sports. In his retirement, he is enjoying life with his husband of 34 years and their yellow lab, Wylie.
The game starts at 6:40 pm, taking on the Washington Nationals.
HAPPY PRIDE!
