During rush hour, getting where you need to be can take longer than normal. With many people getting off work and traveling home, driving becomes increasingly more risky which could affect the cost of your car insurance if you are in an accident. Instead of driving during rush hour traffic, wait an hour or two so that the roads are clear. By doing this, you decrease your chances of getting into an accident and you spend less time at stoplights.

Of course, you must have the legal minimum requirements for insurance on your car in order to drive on the road. However, when there is an increased chance of getting into an accident, you may want to consider increasing your coverage limits and purchasing additional types of insurance coverage. With more insurance coverage, your insurance company may be able to help you repair or replace your car if you are involved in an accident.
