Before you enjoy the latest pics from the garden, I'm very happy to announce the moment I've been waiting for for almost two years on this homestead has arrived: the garden has finally produced enough product to bring to the farmers market. Here is what I have to offer this week. Excepting peppers these are sold prepackaged in one pound bags.
• Brussel sprouts greens (not the actual sprouts; the greens from the plant. These have a mild bitterness to them, I've been enjoying them in my scrambled eggs in the mornings) $5
• Collard greens $8
• Mustard greens $8
• Komatsuna $8
• Siberian kale $8
• Purple bok choy $8
• Peppers $4
Pepper varieties: Poblano, Anaheim, banana, purple beauty bell, and California wonder bell. Mix and match if you like.
Not far off is Red Russian kale, which has pretty much the same flavor as Siberian but different texture (frillier leaves), and I imagine that in coming weeks there will be broccoli. I've never grown cabbage before so I don't know how far off these are, but I planted a lot. Spinach is struggling, I'm going to plant more, see what happens. To be honest I've failed with spinach probably more than any other vegetable.
Hope to see y'all tomorrow starting at 1pm. It's across the street from PJs Coffee between the railroad tracks and the chamber of commerce building on hwy 11. ❤️

As much as I need to bang this garden out and finish it, the reality is after the summer I'm always burnt out to some extent, this year is no exception. It takes a good 4-5 hours to properly prepare a bed, especially when it's overrun with weeds, and i'm just mentally exhausted. So this week, one more bed. Next week I'll try to get two more, the week after, a bed of spinach, and then probably second week in November, finish it off with garlic. IF...if...everything I'm planting does well, and my gut says it should, I'll be bringing product to the farmers market in a couple of months:
Kale
Spinach
Various Asian greens
Green beans
Mustard Greens
Collards
I've also planted cabbage, broccoli, brussel sprouts, and purple bok choy. which will take longer to be harvestable.
