Our Story

In 1969 Ken Beck purchased Colonel Motors in downtown Pierre. Four years later a brand new store was built and the dealership was moved to 500 S. Grant. Ken started off with the Pontiac, Chevrolet & Cadillac car lines. Throughout the years, Beck Motor Company has had a number of additional franchises including Mazda, Geo and Oldsmobile. Today, Ken's sons Trace & Steve run the family business. When people say that Beck Motor Company is a family business, they may be referring to the Beck family but more than likely, they are referring to the family atmosphere that customers feel when dealing with the top notch staff of over 50 employees. We are very proud of our staff and know that running a business like this would be extremely difficult without the dedication and teamwork of our employees.

The Beck’s were fortunate to build a new dealership in 2012. Outgrowing their Grant Street location and the need to better serve their customers, the move to 1905 N. Garfield was made. Each department has the latest in technology and equipment to meet the demands of today’s vehicles and customers needs. Beck Chevrolet, Cadillac is a full service dealership with a new and used sales department, on the spot financing, service and parts departments, and a state-of-the-art collision center. The entire staff at Beck's attends ongoing training to provide the best possible service. With most department team members averaging over 15 years experience, you are assured that you will be treated professionally each and every time you deal with Beck Motor Company.

Looking for the best car wash in town?? Try out Beck Motor Company's SUPERWASH located just south of Beck Motors Main Dealership, on the Truck By-Pass, right next to our Collision Center. We have 2 drive-through bays and 4 self-serve car wash bays. Credit cards are welcome, as well as tokens. Tokens can be purchased at Beck Motor Company, 605-224-5912.
