As we pause to give thanks today, I’m reminded how grateful I am for the many civic-minded people and organizations that make Pilot Mountain such a wonderful place to serve. Without their dedication, we wouldn’t have a town that feels like family — a place with a thriving civic center, beautiful trails and outdoor spaces, a welcoming library, a charming downtown, great schools, a generous food pantry, and so many of the things that make our town special. We have officers who keep us safe, public works who climb into ditches to make sure we have water, and administrative staff members who work hard to make sure the town continues to do better.

I’m also deeply thankful for my family, who always support me and rally around me even when things get tough. And I’m grateful for those kindred spirits in our community who consistently strive to do what is right, even when it’s difficult or not always understood. Your integrity and perseverance inspire me every day.

Wishing each of you a joyful and meaningful Thanksgiving. May your day be filled with peace, gratitude, and time spent with those you love. 🧡

I have been out of town for a few days so I am just hearing the news of the passing of Larry Hudson. I am grateful to Larry for his friendship and his lifetime of contributions to our community. He will always be remembered fondly by the Town of Pilot Mountain. My heart is with his family and loved ones.
