Basic Function: Team with the Head Teacher to plan and implement the educational program for the children by developing a working knowledge of performance standards, ODE Early Learning Development Standards, Head Start domains, curriculum and policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

1. Education and Training: High school diploma or GED with an Infant/Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) or comparable credential, and have been trained or have equivalent coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infant and toddler development. Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education preferred.

2. Work Experience Required: None.

3. Special Conditions: Ability to lift 40 pounds, stoop, bend, and reach. A valid driver’s license and a driving history acceptable to agency insurer. Involves extensive organizing, problem solving, record keeping, and time management.

This is a full-year, full-time position. Wage scale is $9.75 - 10.53 with a CDA, $13.24 - $14.30 with an Associate's degree, $14.03 - $15.15 with a Bachelor's degree and $14.30 - $15.44 with a Master's degree.

The Piqua Night Owl classroom just finished up their bug study. The children were able to "exterminate" the bugs by spraying water on the chalk drawn bugs.
