Embodied Spirit

Embodied Spirit was founded with community always at the forefront of my mind. I may not be on social media very much (really ever), but I’m here today to tell you that I am with you. All of you.

I have been heartbroken, disgusted, horrified, paralyzed, obsessive, withdrawn, so anxious I’ve been in shutdown, and so very fu***ng angry by everything that has been unfolding. I am truly gutted by the senseless brutality and murder that seems to be our every day now.

I full heartedly support this nationwide strike, and will be closed January 30th in solidarity with Minneapolis and to all of those who have been murdered or brutalized by ICE.

We have strength in numbers. We are more powerful than they are because there are more of us than there are of them. We have heart and human rights on our side, they have blind faith in a crumbling system of fear and unearned power.

I’ll be making calls and writing emails, making no purchases, and standing with you at the courthouse tomorrow at 3pm. I hope to see you there ❤️

This is a VERY delayed announcement, but better late than never!

Back in August I traveled to Austin to visit my very good friend and talented maker .shop, who very lovingly hosted me while I took one of the more challenging trainings of my life.

And yep, I’m now officially certified in manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) by the Academy of Lymphatic Studies!

My goal with this training is to focus on working with q***r & trans folks post top surgery, helping to ease discomfort, decrease recovery time, and be a gender affirming support person. I’d also love to work with folks that are living with cancer, chronic pain, and other conditions where traditional massage might not be accessible.

I’ll also be taking an advanced training next month to dive even deeper into post-surgical procedures that focus on the chest area.

There are moments as a practitioner where I doubt my skill and value. Sometimes I worry I didn’t do enough, or I said the wrong thing, or I didn’t hold space in exactly the right way.

And then there are these moments where I connect on a deeper level with the person who walks through my door that I am reminded of why I do what I do.

I am so grateful and honored to support you on your journey, whether it’s once or many times. I absolutely view the work I do as collaborative, because it takes the both of us showing up for healing to occur.
