Go make some history” said CEO Andy Masich of the

ACED joined to dig into what’s next for one of Pittsburgh’s favorite places. President and CEO Andrew Masich was a delight, and his energy is a perfect reflection of the museum itself. One of the many lights in our region.

A 91,700 sq. ft expansion is coming, designed to connect the Cultural District and Strip District, grow attendance by 30% (500K+ visitors a year), and create space for world-class civics and heritage education.

We’re incredibly proud of the Senator John Heinz History Center, named the No. 1 history museum in America for the third year in a row by USA Today’s Annual Readers’ Choice Awards.

Congratulations to Andy and the entire team on this well-deserved honor and their upcoming expansion.

What makes a Main Street important to a community?

It’s not just the storefronts, it’s the people.

Out on historic 8th Avenue for Steel Valley Strides, you could feel it, neighbors showing up, running together, celebrating together, and supporting the businesses and spaces that define this corridor. From Homestead to West Homestead to Munhall, this is one connected community moving in the same direction.

Some at their own pace, and some faster then others 🏃‍♂️

Through our Main Streets Allegheny program, we’re proud to support events like this that activate our business districts, celebrate local identity, and bring real energy to our communities.

Our work at ACED is about creating the conditions to attract people and investment and clean, welcoming corridors are key to that.

We’re proud to support the Spring Relaunch of the Immaculate Collection with a $25,000 investment to activate cleanup efforts along key gateway roadways.

As we prepare for the 2026 NFL Draft and beyond, first impressions matter. This work builds on our $4M+ Main Streets Allegheny investment to strengthen business districts, public spaces, and community pride across the county.

Congrats to the team on reopening today.

Proud that ACED helped support the $26M renovation that preserves 89 affordable housing units, expands ADA access, and adds childcare for 38 kids.

A historic North Side institution ready to serve the community for another 50+ years.
