🌟 Staff Spotlight: Kenyatta Harris ~ Benefits Counselor

With 2.5 years at Mainstay and 6 months with enTRUST, Kenyatta plays a dual role as a Payroll Specialist and Benefits Counselor—supporting both the financial and employment journeys of the people we serve.

She was drawn to Mainstay for its commitment to assisting people with intellectual disabilities in our community, and found the expansion into enTRUST equally inspiring, especially the focus on helping people manage their finances with confidence. Being part of both organizations is something she considers a true privilege.

In her work with clients, she emphasizes the importance of asking questions and exploring every option: a “no” in one scenario doesn’t mean every path is closed—it just means there are more possibilities to uncover.

Outside of work, Kenyatta volunteers her time teaching others about the Bible and contributes to construction projects through an organization of Bible teachers. She also enjoys spending time with her husband of 23 years, Quin, their daughters Asya (21) and Kennedi (16), and her son Khalil (23) and his wife, Aaleiyha.

We had a great time connecting at the Transition Fair at The Watson Institute’s South Fayette Education Center!

Our team enjoyed talking with with families, caregivers, and dedicated professionals who are committed to supporting people with disabilities. Events like this are so important for sharing valuable information and helping people better understand the supports available to them.

We had meaningful conversations with families who were unaware of resources like representative payee services, benefits counseling, special needs pooled trusts, and assistance with Medical Assistance renewals—and many were thrilled to learn help is available through enTRUST.

Opportunities like this continue to inspire our passion for this work and reinforce the importance of building connections and increasing awareness in our community. 💙
