On Tuesday, Young Writer’s Institute carried on with our traditional Writing Marathon!

In their age groups, students explored different areas of Pitt’s campus to gain inspiration for their writing, taking breaks at each stop to observe and work. As we enjoyed the nice weather, our writers visited spaces such as the top of the Cathedral, Phipps’s Outdoor Gardens, and Schenley Plaza. Our writers were able to slow down and intentionally connect with each space, bringing in new story inspiration or allowing for a clearer mind to continue with another piece.

When we broke into small groups to share progress, students were encouraged to claim their identity as writers, and each snippet was celebrated. We’re excited to see how students' confidence builds as well as how their stories evolve over the course of the week!
