🪕 Uptown Moments, part XVII 🌾

A stroll and a scroll (pre-smoke and smog). Tucked squarely between Downtown and Oakland on the Bluff, Uptown Pittsburgh is home to Trace Echo complete with public art, neighborhood vignettes and an all-new, upcoming bus line and bike lane project whose progress is very obviously visible throughout the neighborhood today.

After a quick coffee via GHOST COFFEE COLLAB, Ryan set out from 1738 Forbes Ave - camera in hand. You can swipe to see what he sees. The 15219 zip code is home to *so many* who came before us. Duquesne University. UPMC Mercy. Merante Brothers Italian Market. Pizza Milano. Pittsburgh Association of the Deaf. And really everyone else who pre-dated many of these long standing institutions.

If you’re sleeping on Uptown, well... you’re not alone. Our evening bar service nights (Thursday thru Sunday) are lowkey - we pour drinks and watch the 61 bus hum along from our ground-level storefront at Forbes + Miltenberger. Good news: the bar’s restocked and you can join us tonight.

Like we do every other Thursday - our space fills with the sound of Bluegrass. The Slag Mountain crew sound checks and starts pickin’ around 7pm. You can join ‘em too - BYO instrument and just ask for Dave Shepherd - he’ll get you set up to sit in.

Special thx to Lauren Sattler who’s behind the bar this eve and a shout out to the Bluegrass community for this twice monthly rendezvous. 💙
