As your favorite golfers are navigating Oakmont Country Club's lightning-fast greens and deep bunkers, we are looking back to the beginning.

In 1904, our founder, Edward Stotz, Architect, designed the new clubhouse and its furnishings for about $35,000, around $1,350,000 today. The Club and its challenging course are the inspiration of Henry C. Fownes, steel magnate and golf devotee, for whom Ed­ward Stotz has already designed a house.
