“I’m overwhelmed by all the support that has come in for tomorrow’s 2.5-mile Walk For Redemption on Main Street in Placerville.

A while back, I was at another race event and had the thought that I could probably coordinate something like this for New Beginnings. I thought it would be easy because:

1) I am so passionate about New Beginnings because it changed my life.
2)These events are so much fun… the energy, the camaraderie, and seeing people come together for a good cause.
3) It’s an activity I genuinely enjoy training my son for and doing with him.

I had no idea that one little thought would grow into what it has become. It has turned into our community coming together to help open a home for women who need a safe place and a fresh start, like I needed when I was 18.

My son has been one of my biggest motivations through all of this. Watching him get excited about helping others has made this experience even more meaningful.

Tomorrow isn't just a walk. It's a reminder of what can happen when people come together for something bigger than themselves. We truly can’t do it without the support of others.

Thank you to everyone who has donated, registered, shared our posts, encouraged us, and believed in this vision. Some are friends, co-workers, brothers and sisters in Christ, but most of you were complete strangers to me, yet somehow you've got me on the verge of tears.

My heart is so full, and your support towards New Beginnings through this event means more than I can put into words.
