Like any other pup, Twigs is happy and goofy, with a love for tasty snacks and all things squeaky. Staff quickly noticed that this little boy had a very unique charm - he moved differently and at a slower pace than his neighbors. Unlike his doggy friends here at the shelter, Twigs has mobility issues, which means it takes him a little longer to get around. What started as a little hop then grew to an abnormal gait, wobbly steps, and difficulty sitting down.

Our vets determined that his x-rays were unremarkable, showing no lesions on his pelvis or spine. Suspecting a neurological condition, they directed the shelter to take Twigs to a specialist for further evaluation. Twigs is a happy guy and a volunteer favorite who absolutely adores people. He deserves the best quality of care, even if life looks a little different for him. He asked us to remind his supporters and friends that he is not disabled, but rather differently abled.
