A sanctuary for senior dogs, while it is our goal to find them a home, they have a safe place until then.

While we were away this past fall, HMF was very lucky to be awarded a Grant from Grey Muzzle Organization for two of our Senior Dogs Texas and Walker. Here is a delayed announcement!

🎉Senior Dogs are WINNING today!! We're thrilled to announce that HMF was one of 119 grant recipients awarded funding from the $1.57 million distributed by The Grey Muzzle Organization to support lifesaving efforts for senior dogs like Texas and Walker.

This critical funding supports animal shelters and rescues across USA, France and Nepal in developing senior-focused programs - including medical ands dental care, surrender prevention, hospice care, and adoption incentives. This allowed us to get needed dental care as well as mass removals for both of these boys!

A huge thank you to Grey Muzzle and their generous supporters for making this possible and for believing in a time where every senior dog finds safety, love and a soft landing.

Texas is in the red collar and has a little more grey than Walker!

Hey human hold that cup right there, I need to get all the good stuff!!

Our Allie girl is quite the character, she knows what she wants and is going to let you know. This goes for belly rubs too. Once she rolls over you better not ignore the belly. 🤣

Allie has been with HMF for awhile and we love to find her a permanent foster, this is because Allie does have mild seizures that are completely controlled at this time with daily medication. She will be turning 8 this year and weighs around 60lbs, but is needed to shed a few of those.

Allie came to HMF in 2019 and was adopted out to a couple, after almost a year we got a call that they needed to return Allie as she was not "bonding" with the wife. Now anybody that has met Allie would not believe that at all, she not a clingy dog, but she does like to see what her humans are doing, yes that is a polite way to say she is nosey, but highly lovable.

Allie would like to be an only dog, and she is vocal about that when another dog is in her space. Due to her medications our intent is for Allie to stay in the HMF Sanctuary program so HMF can provide for her medications. While she is well cared for and loved here she would really like her own couch and humans who can give her more time and belly rubs than a sanctuary environment.

If you are Allie's human please email us at [email protected] and we can have you meet Allie and see that belly for yourself.

Sunday Funday Greetings.

Update on Sully, he went on his first volunteer outing yesterday, thank you Jennifer Dee Pollack.

He had a great time, and got to do a bit of exploring and get Pup Cup, and it seems like he really enjoyed it.
We started doggie interactions today, and for his first attempt it went well, he needs to learn how to "dog" for sure. He was a bundle of energy and was not sure what to do with himself, and kept running into the other dog, 🤣. The great news is that it was all positive interactions and we will keep working on it.

Enjoy the cuteness overload with that underbite and teefers.
