🐾 Fosters Needed – Give Them a Safe Place to Land 🐾

Second Chance SPCA is looking for compassionate fosters to open their homes and hearts!

🤔What is fostering?
Fostering means providing a temporary, safe space for an animal in need—helping them rest, grow, and heal before they return to the shelter for adoption. It’s one of the most impactful ways to support rescue work… right from your own home!

✨ Who needs fostering?
We focus on animals who need a little extra care before they’re ready for the shelter, including:
• Weaned puppies & kittens
• Pregnant or nursing mommas
• Animals recovering from medical care or awaiting spay/neuter

🐶 What does fostering look like?
Second Chance is not a foster-based rescue, so foster pets are not adopted from your home. Once they’re ready, they return to the shelter to find their forever family.

💛 What it takes:
• PATIENCE (and lots of it!)
• A safe, separate space in your home
• Ability to transport within the DFW area
• Good communication with our team

⏰ Time commitment:
It varies!
• Short-term: 1–2 days (great for helping with bottle babies!)
• Medium: 1–2 months (puppies & kittens)
• Longer-term: 2 weeks–6 months (medical cases)

🏡 Work full-time? You can still foster!
Many of our fosters do! Some animals simply need a quiet, safe place to rest and recover during the day.
