Some memories 🧐 are simply too awesome to leave in the past.

Each Tuesday, we open another Time Capsule and look back at a training, event or moment that helped shape the journey of Responding 2 Autism.

πŸ•°οΈ This week’s Time Capsule opens in 1989 at the Pompano Beach Police Department πŸš”

Now this memory is unique because Dalton and Martin Jr. had not arrived yet. They would not arrive for almost two decades but it was the year Martin Sr. was sworn-in as a first responder. πŸš”πŸ’™πŸš”

His path and decision to protect and serve in 1989 would shape our lives in ways we never could have imagined. My incredible husband’s dedication to his community and his love for his sons is the reason Responding 2 Autism πŸ’™ is able to do what we do today.

Thank you for being part of our story.

These moments remind us not only of the communities we’ve been honored to serve, but also of how far Dalton and Martin Jr. have come.

What began as two little boys attending our trainings has grown into two remarkable young men who now stand beside us, sharing their experiences, teaching first responders, and helping make communities safer for individuals with autism.

We are incredibly grateful to the thousands of first responders, educators, firefighters, EMS professionals, community leaders, and friends who have welcomed us into their agencies and helped make this mission possible.

Thank you for being part of our story.

Responding 2 Autism had a fantastic time in the pool today πŸ›Ÿ with the City of Pompano Beach’s Therapeutic Recreation department. Martin Jr. works, part-time, in the TR department and he loves it. 😎

Inclusive Water Aerobics for adults is a fun, low-impact water workout designed for adults with developmental or physical disabilities. Build strength, improve balance, and enjoy movement in a supportive and social environment!

Martin Jr. was working today and Dalton participated in the class.

Programs like this give our adults on the spectrum a place to have fun in the summer and make new friends. Inclusive Water Aerobics classes are held every Friday from April 3, 2026 through September 25, 2026. Registration Required
