Progress looks different when the community has a seat at the table.
to a room filled with residents, business owners, organizations and neighbors who showed up because they know the future of a community should be shaped with the people who live there.
It was also an opportunity to meet Stacey Boynton of Studio-Us and Damon Hewlin of Meticulous, the architects leading the design of the new E. Pat Larkins Community Center. Congratulations again to both of you. We’re excited to see what’s created through this partnership with the community.
The conversation isn’t over. The design team will be back to hear more ideas, and we hope even more voices are in the room next time.
Redevelopment isn’t just about what gets built. It’s about who helps shape it. We’ll keep you posted on the next opportunity to participate.

Happy Fourth of July.
Today, families and friends across the country will gather around grills, parade routes, lakes, front porches, and fireworks to celebrate Independence Day.
As we celebrate, perhaps there’s one question worth carrying with us. What does independence make possible?
Is it simply the freedom to live without interference, or is it also the freedom to dream, to build, to belong, and to help create opportunities that didn’t exist before?
The Fourth of July reminds us that freedom has always been an aspiration as much as an achievement. Every generation has been called to move its promise a little closer to reality, not just for themselves, but for their neighbors, their communities, and those who come after them.
Maybe that’s what we’re really celebrating today: not that the work is finished, but that each of us has the opportunity to help shape what comes next. As you enjoy today with the people you love, we leave you with one question:
How will you use your freedom to make someone else’s future a little brighter?
Happy Independence Day.

Congratulations to Stacey N. Boynton and Damon Hewlin.
Communities don’t happen by accident. They are shaped by people with vision, discipline, and a commitment to creating spaces where others can thrive. Thank you for the work you do and the impact you continue to make.

Legacy isn’t built in a single moment. It’s built in the rides to practice, the lessons at the kitchen table, the phone calls that start with “Did you make it home?”, and the examples set when nobody is watching. Sometimes, legacy is built in the decision to do things differently.
Today we celebrate fathers, grandfathers, bonus dads, uncles, mentors, coaches, and the men who have chosen to show up for the next generation. Some taught us how to change a tire, balance a budget, or stand up for ourselves. Others taught us simply by refusing to give up, even when they were figuring it out as they went.
Not every father had a father to learn from. Some were raised by strong women. Some grew up without examples, guidance, or a roadmap for what fatherhood could look like. Some inherited wisdom, while others inherited wounds. Yet they showed up anyway, doing the best they could with what they had and working to become something they may have never seen modeled for themselves.
Fatherhood is not one thing. It looks different in every family and every community. For some, today is joyful. For others, it brings reflection, remembrance, gratitude, grief, forgiveness, or healing.
Wherever this day finds you, we hope you take a moment to honor the people who helped shape your journey and the fathers and father figures whose impact may never fully be measured, but can be felt across generations.
Strong communities are built through relationships, guidance, accountability, and love. Much of that work happens quietly, through the everyday choices of men who continue showing up for their families and their communities.
Happy Father’s Day.

Juneteenth is more than a historical milestone. It is a reminder that access to information, opportunity, and economic participation has never been distributed equally.
On June 19, 1865, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation, enslaved people in Texas finally learned they were free.
That delay matters.
It reminds us that freedom is not only about rights. It is about access. Access to knowledge. Access to resources. Access to ownership. Access to the systems that shape our future.
At Lotus Mindset, we believe communities thrive when people have the tools, information, and opportunities needed to build generational wealth, preserve culture, strengthen wellness, and create pathways forward.
Today, we honor those who endured, those who resisted, and those who continue the work of expanding opportunity for future generations.
Freedom is not just a moment in history. It is a responsibility we carry forward.
