TX2K26 ‘Street Car Champ’ Eliminations Recap

Leading up to the Teams ‘Runner Up’ finish in the ‘Street Car’ class at ‘26 we fought tooth and nail each round of Eliminations as we made our way to the finals!

Cutting the tree down, almost every round was a ‘side-by-side’ drag race down against some great drivers and awesome cars!

Round 1
We raced in their big single turbo Mk4 Toyota Supra! Unfortunately they couldn’t get it spooled in time, which caused them to get ‘Timed Out’ as ‘Auto Start’ was triggered as we both took the tree! With an auto win light in our lane, we used the pass to test our tune up, collect data, and prepare for the next round!

Round 2
Following the class ladder, we were paired against Lou Iacopetti in his Buick Grand National! Off the starting line, we both cut the tree down with identical reaction times and let our cars duke it out! Pulling wheel, we set the front down and found ourselves neck ‘n’ neck with the GNX! Creeping out front, we led the race as we both flew past the boards, earning us that ‘Win Light!’

Round 3
We went up against in his turbocharged Gen 3 Hemi Foxbody Mustang, a very clean and unique build! Leaving the starting line, we cut the better light, and as we led the race out front, just at the 1000ft the supercharger blower belt gave way and the car nosed over, coasting through the traps while still turning on the ‘Win Light’ in our lane!

After the Semifinal, we limped the car back to the pits and immediately threw it on as the Team thrashed to change out plugs, install a new supercharger belt, revise tuning, inspect, fuel and air the tires - all just in time for the Finals, where another close race brought us to the Winners Circle as the ‘Runner Up’ in the ‘Street Car’ class once again at TX2K26!

As the Team works hard to get our Gen 3 Coyote bullet, and 3.8L Supercharger back in action, stay tuned for more racing content! 🤘

TX2K26 Q2☑️

After qualifying with an 8.458 in Q1 for the ‘Street Car’ class, the Team stuck with that number for Q2, using our run for today to collect short track data as we get more hits at the track. With a hot forecast throughout the weekend, this data allows us to set the car up best, no matter the surface conditions.

As we prepare for our third round of Qualifying, set for tomorrow afternoon, stay tuned for some more exciting coverage of TX2K 2026! 🤘

Round 1 of Qualifying at TX2K26 ☑️

Moving into the first round of many for Drag Race Qualifying for the Street Car class here the Team ran it to the 1/8th mile before clicking it off!

Analyzing data from the run, we will focus on half track performance, monitoring surface conditions as air temperature and density are projected to rise throughout the week. As qualifying progresses, the Team will set the car up best as the class is split into multiple groups.

More coverage from the ‘Super Bowl of Drag Racing’ coming up! 🤘🏁
