We'd like to introduce Toby to the sanctuary.

He's a bearded dragon with MBD who is unable to turn or move properly.

A wonderful family was helping someone find this special boy a rescue to take him in, intrusted us with giving Toby a 2nd chance at life and we're thankful for that 🙏🏼

We're working on building Toby a home that is appropriate for bearded dragons with MBD . He is unable to climb or hold himself so we'll be putting something together for him that is slightly different than your average bearded dragon home.

As we learn more about him, what he's capable of and what he struggles with, we hope to keep him as comfortable as possible.

He was excited to see some greens once he warmed up enough so we're looking forward to seeing how he does with some roaches and possibly worms.

We will bring him in to see Dr. Campbell and reach out to some bearded dragon with MBD experts to get this boy everything he needs. Welcome home Toby, we're so happy to have you join us 💚

We didn't get the chance to post this yesterday after it was recorded, but I'm grateful to have captured this bit with her outside.

(Forgive the random noises, including our dog, possibly chickens and well.. the birds)
She did a few soft squeeks if you listen carefully..

Our sweetest Wendy, we miss you 😣😖😓

Allow us to introduce Wendy, our newest special needs baby piggie..

Our background stories are NEVER to judge or shame families. They are purely to teach lessons and provide education so that others can make the right decision when purchasing from pet stores (which we NEVER recommend) and underestimating the expenses when it comes to exotic animals such as a Guniea pig.

Story: family purchased her from one of the local pet stores here in PSL, that kept about 10 guniea pigs together, they fell in love with one of them but were told they must adopt in pairs.
Were told she was 6 months old from the sales associate.
They were purchased approximately 3-4 weeks ago.
Were both given pellets hay and lettuce.
Around Tues or so she started showing signs of something being wrong.
Owner found her in the middle of the enclosure not moving.
She wobbles, flips overs, has dried up blood on the tip of both ears.
And only weighs .2595 kg = roughly 9 oz..
Other guniea pig is doing very well, saw her myself.

The Humane Society couldn't get them in for 2 weeks and a vet in Palm City quoted the family $100 a visit and $500 down in advance..

We were asked if we could take her in to help, so she's no longer suffering.

On our way home from grabbing some hay, we offered to pick her up, gave some advice to the family for the remaining piggie and brought Wendy home.

We started her on some meds until I can get her in to our vet, with the holiday, many are off.. our goal is to keep her stable.

We aren't looking for any judgemental comments, but prayers.. just yesterday we were asking for help with raising funds to grab a 40gln tank for a hamster and this little girl found her way to us.. we were not offered nor did we ask for any donations to help with the vet fees.

Our funds are limited, almost non-existent, but I didn't have the heart to NOT help her with whatever we have here..

Prayers for Wendy are needed, if you feel you can help us raise some funds, that'd be incredible, if you can share our story, that'd be just as wonderful.

Our hearts are breaking for this little 9oz Guniea pig who is absolutely helpless..

Video of her in the comments..

Hey friends, we need some assistance in obtaining a 40gln tank with a mesh top for our new arrival, Princess, the hamster. She's on the larger side, purchased from a pet store this year.. She was brought to us in a reptile terrarium (pictured).
Hamsters, like gerbils and mice, need to burrow, for this reason a front-opening terrarium isn't appropriate.

All we have on hand is a 10 gln (pictured). We gathered whatever supplies we had on hand and built her a tiny (clean) home, but the minimum her home needs to be is in a 40gln.

If anyone has one they can part with, willing to donate or if we can raise funds to purchase one, that would be extremely appreciated!

40 gln tanks run approximately $75-$130 and the mesh top is approximately $60, so our goal is to raise $200 just to get this girl in an appropriate home.

We'll share an video of her right after this post of her gathering up her food to hide (but she has no where to hide it 🤦🏻‍♀️😅).

Thanks all!!
