Since 2018, our unwavering commitment has been to extend vital support and services to victims of domestic and sexual abuse.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the City of Port St. Lucie for inviting RUFS Foundation to participate in the 2026 Juneteenth Celebration of Unity.
It was an honor to engage with community members, share our mission, collect over 50 signatures in support of RUFS Law, and connect with so many individuals who believe in protecting victims, promoting accountability, and creating positive change.
We are also grateful for everyone who stopped by our table, signed our petition, learned about our advocacy efforts, and supported our authors by purchasing copies of There I Sat In Silence and Destined For The Deep Waters.
Together, we celebrated freedom, honored our history, and strengthened our community.
Thank you to the organizers, volunteers, vendors, performers, and every person who made this event such a success. Your support means more than words can express.

🚨 8 YEARS OF ADVOCACY. NOW WE NEED YOUR SIGNATURE. 🚨
For the past 8 years, the Rising Up From Silence (RUFS) Foundation has stood beside survivors of domestic violence, listened to their stories, and witnessed the devastating impact abuse has on individuals, children, families, and entire communities.
The statistics are alarming:
💜 More than 106,000 domestic violence crimes were reported to Florida law enforcement in a recent reporting year.
💜 Those crimes resulted in more than 63,000 arrests.
And yet, behind every number is a person whose life has been forever changed.
That is why we are advocating for RUFS Law — legislation designed to strengthen victim safety, increase offender accountability, and help prevent future acts of domestic violence.
This is not about revenge.
This is about protection.
This is about prevention.
This is about giving victims and survivors every possible tool to protect themselves and their families.
Our goal is to collect 10,000 signatures and demonstrate to Florida lawmakers that protecting victims matters.
