💙 We Are Wednesday: Meet Mary Pesce

We’re excited to shine the spotlight on Mary Pesce, a Math Consultant who has been supporting KRESA districts for the past three years!

Mary’s work is rooted in partnership, whether she’s co-planning and co-teaching with educators, leading professional learning, or collaborating on curriculum and instruction. She brings a flexible, responsive approach that meets teachers and leaders where they are.

What brings Mary the most joy? Working alongside educators to create meaningful shifts in instruction, centering student thinking, encouraging rich math conversations, and ensuring every learner has access to engaging, high-quality math experiences. She’s also inspired by the strong sense of collaboration at KRESA. Mary shares that the trust and teamwork across her department continue to grow, and she’s excited about the impact they can make together for students and districts across Kalamazoo County.

When asked what she wants others to know about her role, Mary emphasizes learning side-by-side with educators to help all students see themselves as confident “knowers and doers” of mathematics. And some of her favorite moments? Hearing from students that math felt fun and finally made sense; that’s what it’s all about.
