Temporary Tags

Everyone has seen them. The white piece of paper sometimes flapping on the rear of the vehicle as it is driven down the roadway. Some that are so expired you look and wonder “How in the world is that on the roadway?” RPD has these questions that we are working hard to get answers to.

Your RPD Traffic Division, along with the help of the Patrol Division, have been working diligently within the city to crack down on this state-wide issue. Numerous tags are removed from vehicles on a weekly basis. SEVERAL of these vehicles stopped are found to not only be uninsured but are also found to be salvage vehicles that are not authorize to be driven on Texas roadways. These vehicles are immediately impounded and proper enforcement is completed.

Along with the above enforcement these tags are also found to be related to several crimes that occur within the city most recently being the Catalytic Converter thefts that are currently sweeping through the Houston Area.

Pictured below is just a fraction of Temporary Tags that RPD has confiscated. RPD will continue to crack down on fake tags that are in the city.
