If the average DOM in an area is low, it typically means that demand is high, with more potential buyers than properties for sale. Buyers should be prepared to act fast and homes are likely to sell at or above asking price.
On the other hand, if the average DOM is high—think many weeks or even months— then inventory is greater than demand. Sellers in this type of market may need to compromise on price or offer buyer incentives.
