I came across this scene while hiking in the Gorge one morning but the low clouds weren't quite positioned correctly to fully frame the tree. The winds were pushing them around quite a bit so I waited until they positioned themselves just right. I struggle with being patient with photography. When I come across a composition I just want to capture it and get looking for the next one. As if they'll disappear if I did get to them quickly enough. This photos is a reminder to me that patience is an important skill to have as a photographer.

Haven't wanted to head out in this cold storm we're currently experiencing here in the Portland area. But in honor of the cold here's a pic of a frozen Alta Lake up in British Columbia I took one cold morning last year.
