The VRC is proud to co-host a special screening of Inward, an insightful short film by Navy Veteran, award-winning filmmaker, and outdoors enthusiast Chad Brown. A driving force for veteran and environmental advocacy, Chad is the founder of the non-profits Soul River, Inc., which connects veterans and inner-city youths through a love for the natural world, and Love is King, which fights for equitable access and safety in nature for marginalized communities. His work has been featured in The New York Times, Outside Magazine, and on BBC and CBS.

Inward follows painter and explorer Michi Meko, who will be in attendance for this screening. His work seeks to capture the wild beauty of nature through the perspective of a “lone Black man reporting back from the new world.”

Join us beforehand at the VRC for a special reception from 5:30 to 6:30 PM in SMSU 018 (basement). Enjoy catered refreshments and take part in an intimate discussion of the film's insights and creativity with the director of the film, Chad Brown himself.

The screening will take place in Lincoln Hall, room 75. Doors open at 6:30 PM, with the showing beginning at 7:00 PM. Stay tuned after the movie for a Q&A with Chad Brown and Michi Meko. We hope to see you there!
