meet puppy #1: Somerset

Not named for Somerset Maugham, however, I am reminded of a smokey British pub called the Moon and Sixpence which was also a Maugham title, not far from a place I used to live, that tells a story of shepherd's pie and stout. I can picture it in a fabled children's storybook with me sitting there at the pub table and my dog Somerset sitting adjacent to me, eating a meal at days end, toasting it with a pint of something to help us forget the work of the mill and remember the caterwauling of our people near the Moors.
