Hooky

Current mood. . . . . . . . Hey give me a follow over at on Instagram if you want to support my creative outlet. It’s a growing endeavor, something I started on a piece of scratch paper back in 2014 before I left New Orleans.

It’s a thing that is evolving and kind of has a life of it’s own. I more or less want it to be about some really deeply inspiring things that I love all rolled into one and touching on various themes in a way that fits. But also I don’t take it too seriously either. You could almost say that I’m creating stuff for myself that I want to see created, for me to wear and play with. I love fashion and self expression and I wanted something that related to things I love. Hope you like it too.

Some of those inspirations for me begin with memories of when I was a kid out in the street at night playing under the tungsten glow of a street lamp, dorking on skateboards. Hours of fun doing tricks on the curb with a friend, a crisp fall night, the changing colors of the sky, not a care in the world. Or memories of camping and the cozy warm fire and how transfixed I was in moments like that. And now how every fire reminds me of all the ones before, like some kind of gateway to a parallel nostalgic universe.

Other inspirations for me were vintage Halloween decorations, the feels of being in a costume as a ghoul roaming the neighborhood with all the other candy seeking ghouls, 80s skateboard graphics, punk rock flyers, BMX bikes, stickers, the forest, drawing in my notebook in class as I daydreamed about all the things I would do after the bell rang.

Motorcycle life most definitely embodies many of these qualities and sensations. I love the feeling of the air and the elements, the smell of a chimney, the evergreens, riding through a city of lights with my favorite music playing, the bike itself and how that is an expression of personal style, the sounds, the friends I’ve made.

HOOKY is this same idea. It’s an idea that has fueled my journey my whole life, it keeps me going. Sometimes it gets a little dicey, but when I make it through, I’m always glad I chose the way I went and let this glowing happy stash of favorite things guide me and keep me dreaming.
