What a wild year.
Contract ran August 2021- August 2022
Salary: $125,000 + $5,500 bonus
Per diem contract: $80/hr
I am soooo grateful I picked up the per diem contract.
I got stuck August 2022. It was the end of my contract year and I was due with my first baby in October. I pivoted and worked my per diem job as much as I wanted for 2 months prior to delivering and moved in December 2022.

This urgent care had some serious perks!
Run time: August 2019- August 2020
Now that I’ve been practicing for 7 years and have done more acute medicine I can look back and appreciate that…
-The patients weren’t that sick
-the complaints were straight forward
-the volume/day was low
-The medical insurance when used was basically $0
Had I had a family at the time of this job I don’t think I would have left. With that being said, I wanted to keep learning and building on my skills.
