2024 US Brewers Cup Champion, Weihong Zhang, founded BLENDIN after moving from China to the states in order to complete a PhD program in Biochemistry. His postdoctoral research project led him to Houston, Texas where things would change. After cupping and tasting coffees during a work trip in Kenya, a science driven coffee project become the goal. Zhang would go on to become the US Champion while brewing a decaf coffee in the competition stage. For most, decaf is not even an option or even looked down upon; hardly even worth trying. Not for Zhang. This approach of defying convention and preconceived notions leads the philosophy at BLENDIN and it only makes sense to partner with them in serving the Portland community such gorgeous coffees.

For a limited time we’re rocking an epic blend on espresso that combines Panelita, a clean washed Mexican coffee with the ridiculously rare, thermal shock-natural processed coffee from El Diviso Ombligon (Nester Lasso) from Colombia. Think Dr. Pepper, watermelons, and blue raspberry candy.
