I remember one of my mentors favorite quotes was from Shakespeare (The Tempest): “What is past is prologue.”
I was sorting through some items in storage and found an award I received from the US Army during my time as a DoD civilian employee. It was one of the most fun environments to be in (and also intense). From creating and leading workouts, closing up the gym in the evening, being present during the opening of the obstacle course on base, and getting some incredibly intense workouts with the team and service members, this was a position that molded me and will forever be with me.
What you do today will soon become your past, and it will direct your path for the future.
Take care of your bodies, treat yourself well, and train hard in whatever you do and your future will be bright.
Get those hands up! Today, I looked at shoulder range of motion and found I may a slight restriction in my right arm due to Latissimus Dorsi tightness (most likely due to all the rock climbing I’ve been doing recently). I decided to use a foam roller, hang from a pull-up bar, activate the problem muscle as well as other smaller muscles, and found that my shoulder motion improved.
The process at Robinsong Strength and Conditioning it to test-treat-and retest to make sure we are improving in the right areas. When we open up our range of motion, we can perform exercises at improved ranges instead of in limited ranges.
