Here's why~when i put something for sale online, i have to account for shipping and packaging costs plus the fee thats charged by the platform. When you come into my workshop , those costs are null! I worked a lot of weddings last year, but you wouldn't know it from my posts. Truth is, I was feeling a bit of post fatigue when it came to bridal looks.
But this particular coral haired beauty had an impact on me artistically and creatively. As I was fastening her custom French hood hairpiece, she looked up at me and said, "Catelyn; you should raise your prices."
I was shook by that.
Many people in my life had been saying it for some time and the fact that this person (a mega success in her own right) who had known me only briefly, had taken that moment to give me this advice made me think it's about time I listen.
So , I did it. Which means I'll likely be working less weddings this year, but the ones that I do will be better aligned to the value I provide. and I'll just say..
