It’s Big Books Day! Bookworms, time to set aside your latest page-turner (don’t worry, you’ll have your nose back in a book in no time) and make sure you’re in the running for your favorite thing: more books!

Every donation of $10 or more today has a chance to win a $500 gift card to Powell's Books, Inc.

Are you 35 or under? Powell’s has donated a second $500 gift card just for our younger donors, so you have TWO chances to win today.

Powell’s gift cards can be redeemed at any of their retail locations, including the famous flagship store at NW 10th and Burnside, or online at www.powells.com.

Visit www.giveguide.org to get started — every donation is a chance to win and there’s no limit!

Here at the Give!Guide headquarters, we’re doing our stretching and prepping for what we like to call “The Final Push”. It’s what we call the sprint toward the end of the year’s campaign. ICYMI: this year we’re reaching for our biggest goal yet—$9 million for 277 nonprofits in the Portland metro area.

Those of you that have been here before know that we like to end each campaign year with a line up of positively fantastic Big Give Days. If you’re new, then you’re in for a treat, starting tomorrow with Big Books Day. Donate $10 or more, and get entered to win a $500 gift card to Powell's Books, Inc. Donors 35 and under have a second opportunity to win. 📚

Come back on 12/28 for Big Cool Day, brought to you by some of Portland’s slayingest destinations. Every donation of $10 has multiple chances to win! Following right behind Big Cool Day is Big E-Bike Day. 🚲 Once again, a donation of ONLY $10 (we won’t stop you from donating more, though 😉) will toss your hat in the running to win a 2025 Tern HSD S00 e-bike from Splendid Cycles.

Come back on 12/31, make your donation of $10 or more, and roll the dice for a chance to win this complete Shakespeare-forward getaway package for two to Southern Oregon!

Huzzah, and happy giving! 🥳

People all across the nation are experiencing increased food insecurity; the Portland metro area is no exception. More and more often, we are seeing community members struggle to figure out where their—and their family's—next meal is going to come from. And when people experience hunger, it affects their health and stability.

"Food is not something people should have to earn. It is a basic need, and access to nourishment should be shared freely with compassion and dignity," shares Daisha Wilby from Sunshine Division, on behalf od the nonprofits in this year's Hunger category.

"Thankfully, this is home to an incredible network of organizations that refuse to let their neighbors go hungry...advocates and educators are on the front lines to remove barriers, address root causes, and create lasting change. They share resources, collaborate on outreach, and respond quickly as demand grows, ensuring that every effort strengthens the next...This community and your support make that possible every day."

That's why a donation to any of the 24 nonprofits participating in this year's Give!Guide Hunger category is so vital! Head to giveguide.org to donate now, and know that you're helping put food in hungry bellies throughout our community. 🍽💙
