Our Story

More than a century ago, John Kunz founded SP Provisions, naming his company after his main customer, the Southern Pacific Railroad. SP Provisions’ business stretched from Portland to Alaska and included some of the finest dining establishments in the Northwest. John built his company on the hallmarks of quality, service and integrity.

Four generations later, SP Provisions remains committed to John’s ideals. As a family business with more than 135 years of experience, we understand our market like no other company can. SP Provisions knows what our clients want: an affordable product of the highest quality; a product that supports Western farmers; and above all, a natural product that is delicious and aged for maximum tenderness.
