we’ve been talking a lot in the studio this week about design and representation (graphics). we don’t really like the term ‘rendering’ because it tends to imply a representation of a finisged product, ie the design is done. Good graphics and good design leverage the same elements of composition, scale, depth, and narrative. All of these graphics are design sketches, diagrams. they’re an open dialogue between our minds eye and our client, the audience. They are communication. Do you see what I see? How do people use the space? Its important that we always start with people in mind. The figures in the image tell a story. Drawing, modeling, and making are a core component of our studio.
