Talking Il Presepe - The Traditional Italian Nativity Scene If you’ve ever been to Italy over Christmas, you’ll have no doubt seen il presepe. This is the traditional Italian nativity scene and can be seen in churches all over Italy, as well as in many shops and family homes.

December 8 is the holy day of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception and in my region, the Marche region, on this day every town lights a big fire, tradition has it that the angels carrying Mary's house from the Holy Land were guided to the city of Loreto from the light of the fires, to Cagli this tradition still lives and it is always an emotion !!
