May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and this year marks the first time I've truly grasped the extensive challenges faced by millions of Americans, including myself, who live with mental health conditions. To give you a glimpse into my experiences, I wanted to share this video by a musician named Ren, titled "Hi Ren," that illustrates how my mind operates as I navigate my journey toward mental health improvement. I genuinely have these types of conversations in my head, and trust me, they are far from fun.

I've chosen to share my story because I now recognize that seeking help is not only beneficial but essential. I am committed to eradicating the stigma associated with mental health issues, extending support to those in need, fostering public education, and advocating for policies that prioritize the well-being of individuals and families affected by mental illness.

He dreamed his whole life that one day he’d retire on the very farm that he had grown to know and love as his home; watching beautiful sunsets in his old age. Alas, he was such a “YOUNG TURKEY” when tragedy struck without notice. It was all such a blur; one moment he’s sauntering in the grassy knolls, the next, he finds himself amongst a massive crowd, not knowing his destiny was sealed. He had his whole life ahead of him, but on that fateful day, in one swift moment, it was all taken away. For chrissakes: he had a fricken political science degree. What was he thinking passing on that internship at the White House? Maybe, just maybe, he could have been pardoned. Instead, we gather with friends and family to say our final goodbyes Thanksgiving Day, at his cremation, in a Thermador oven.
