Traditionally valued for its aromatic and cooling nature, Qinghao has been used in Chinese Medicine for centuries and is carefully harvested at the proper time to preserve its delicate properties.🌿

Behind every formula is a long chain of farmers, landscapes, traditions, and skilled hands working together to preserve the depth of this medicine.

It's and this week were highlighting Release Pearls 🍃

Release Pearls is based on the design of Chai Ge Jieji Tang (Bupleurum and Kudzu Decoction to Release the Muscle Layer), which first appeared in the 15th century medical source book Six Texts on Disorders Caused by Cold (Shanghan liushu). The unorthodox design of the original formula features a clinically highly effective combination of wind dispersing herbs that simultaneously enter all three yang channels—shaoyang, yangming and taiyang.

For the last five centuries, the remedy has been used to treat aggressive epidemic infections, especially when symptoms of headaches and/or neck stiffness are present. Since climate change has precipitated an expansion of bizarre tropical diseases into the Northern hemisphere, viral or spirochetal infections of the brain have become more common in the US and Europe. Release Pearls intends to provide options for these types of acute disorders when Western epidemiology has little to offer. By combining the original remedy with herbs used in the treatment of Gu syndrome, moreover, Release Pearls can also be used in the treatment of individuals who frequently develop severe headaches.

“Natural” doesn’t always mean gentle 🌿

In Chinese medicine, herbs are powerful tools—not just supplements. The right formula depends on careful pattern differentiation, proper dosage, and clinical experience.

What makes something safe isn’t just that it’s natural—it’s how and when it’s used.
