It's so strange and fortuitous how things come full circle. When we started Spooltown 8 years ago, we split off from Queen Bee by Rebecca Pearcy (where Dana and Sara worked together for 5 years). Queen Bee was our first client, sold us our first sewing machine, and referred our first employees. Rebecca Pearcy's support was the catalyst that made us a real business, and we're forever grateful.

This year (in December), Rebecca is closing Queen Bee after 23 years in business to focus on her textile line. It's bittersweet. We're celebrating change with her, and 23 wonderful years in a really tough retail climate. We're sad for her loyal customers (many of whom have been with her since the early days). And... we're making the last of their bags! It's been about 3 years since we've made a Truckette, but it's all coming back as we plow through piles and piles of them for the next few months.

It feels good to help close a chapter and open a new one for Rebecca. Small business has a life cycle, and we're proud to be here supporting makers start to finish.
