Please consider donating to the Duniway Foundation’s Fall Giving Campaign here: https://duniwayfoundation.org/2020-annual-campaign by November 18th. This is one of the primary ways we raise money for Duniway teaching positions not funded by PPS, including the Educational Assistants for every grade level being provided this year. Any contribution, at whatever level possible, makes a difference in the quality of education for kids across PPS.

Thank you so much for turning in all those green envelopes and making this year's Annual Campaign a big success! Thanks to your support, we had 68% of envelopes returned and raised more than $71,000 for teaching positions not covered by Portland Public Schools and additional educational enrichment programs at Duniway.

Today we brought things to a sweet end—the classrooms with the most participation were welcomed to the cafeteria to chow down on bowls of ice cream topped with chocolate syrup, whipped cream, AND sprinkles. Congrats to the kiddos in Clawson, IverNewt, Robb, Mildenberger, Cudjoe, and Levine's rooms!

Annual Campaign donations are starting to come in and we genuinely appreciate everyone who has taken the time to give via check, cash, or at www.duniwayelementary.com/give!

DON'T MISS THIS: Overall school participation currently stands at 13.19%. If we can get it to 25% by next Tuesday, our very own Mr. Goldstein has *promised* he'll dress up for Halloween. Turn in those envelopes if you want to see Duniway's headmaster in a very special costume!

Remember, any contribution, at whatever level possible, makes a difference in the quality of your child’s education! We encourage every family to contribute, as these programs benefit all Duniway students.

Letter from the Presidents

Dear Duniway Families and Friends:

Wow, 2017-2018 was an unprecedented year for the Foundation’s fundraising efforts. Due to the time, talent and funds this community provided in addition to a one-time donation from a private foundation, we raised just over $300,000 last year. With these funds, Principal Goldstein was able to hire the equivalent of 3 full-ti me teaching positions and plans to pilot a STEM scienti st-in-residence program for grades 2-5 this Spring.

Class size guidance from PPS has gotten larger at every grade and these funds are critical to ensuring our classes sizes stay reasonable and for funding Educational Assistants that can help provide more individualized attention to kids across the learning spectrum. 100% of what the Foundation funds are for staff and programs that would not have been funded by PPS.

We are consistently amazed at the support and generosity of this community and appreciate the feedback on the fundraising efforts and funding priorities either directly to the board or through our annual survey. Please continue to provide feedback and input!
